"⚠️PLEASE READ BEFORE HIRING ANTHONY’S SERVICES⚠️ My husband and I hired Anthony for a project. Initially, everything seemed professional. He visited the client’s home, assessed the work that needed to be done, and even removed part of the flooring the same day because he was supposed to return the next morning to begin the project. The following day, at 7:00 a.m., Anthony called and requested that we send him $1,250 via Zelle (which we now realize was a mistake). This amount represented 50% of the total cost he had quoted us. We agreed because we were scheduled to meet at the job site at 9:00 a.m. to start the work. Anthony never showed up. After numerous calls, texts, and even a visit to the address listed for his company, he finally responded on June 6. He told us that the job was “too hard,” that he would not be completing it, and that he could not refund our money because his account was overdrawn and he had already spent the funds on other things. We remained patient and gave him additional time to repay us. However, on June 24, when we contacted him again to ask about our money, he answered the phone aggressively, used racist language, and stated, “Do whatever you want. It’s a civil matter, and I won’t give you your money,” before hanging up. At this point, it is clear that we were not dealing with a professional contractor. We paid for a job that was never performed, were denied a refund, and were treated with hostility and disrespect when we attempted to resolve the matter. I am sharing this experience to warn others: if you value your time, money, and peace of mind, do not hire Anthony. Based on our experience, he accepted payment, failed to perform the work, refused to refund the money, and responded with abusive behavior when confronted."
