"If you want the job completed, do NOT hire Luis. Hired Luis to lay pavers and construct a pergola. He asked me to upgrade pavers and to build brick columns because it would really “help his business”. I was reluctant but agreed. He did a nice job with the pavers. I texted to ask if he was coming on the agreed date to construct the pergola. Said he was headed to check on the paint. Never heard, so texted a couple weeks later to confirm a date but never heard from him again. Luis asked me to pay for materials in advance, which I did. Now, I have to find another contractor and am out some money. Do NOT pay for anything in advance. Better yet, find a reliable contractor."
